How-to Delegate Your Voicemail Mailbox

Problem

You may need to delegate the task of taking your voicemail messages to someone else in your organisation – a user can be setup to monitor multiple mailboxes in order to do this.

Step-by-Step Guide

To delegate a voicemail mailbox the extension (or multiple extensions) must be assigned to the user account that will monitor their voicemail mailboxes – this task is performed under a Client or Reseller account – users cannot do this by themselves.

  1. Login to ClusterPBX using a Client or Reseller account (if you do not have the proper access contact your telephony administrator to place the request)
  2. Click Users on the main navigation
  3. Select the user account from the list and click the Edit User button on the toolbar
  4. Go to the Voicemail tab inside the User Update Form

    Optionally you can check the Notify this user by email option – they will receive an email based notification when the change is applied.

  5. Enter the desired extension(s) – separated by commas – in the Extensions to watch text field
  6. Click the Apply button to complete the operation
